The Sydney Partnership for Health, Education, Research & Enterprise (SPHERE)
In March 2017, Momentum² was engaged to manage the media outreach for the launch of The Sydney Partnership for Health, Education, Research & Enterprise (SPHERE). The launch, held at the Parliament of NSW, included a speech from NSW Minister for Health and Medical Research, Brad Hazzard.
SPHERE is a $20 million collaboration between leading experts in health, research and education sectors which aims to develop new and innovative ways to deliver better healthcare for communities in NSW through reducing the time between research and clinical outcomes.
Parties involved in SPHERE include UNSW, UTS Sydney, Western Sydney University, Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, Garvan Institute of Medical Research, and the Black Dog Institute.
Momentum² targeted mainstream news media (print, broadcast and online) as well as specialist health and education publications, organising interviews for Professor Ian Jacobs, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of NSW, in order to raise media and public awareness surrounding the launch.
To generate media interest and publicity for SPHERE and educate media and the general public about SPHERE
To raise awareness of the need to improve healthcare in communities in NSW including in regional and indigenous communities
To communicate the challenges regarding the delivery of solutions for major health issues, and to communicate the need to act on this by reducing the time between research and clinical outcomes
Momentum² secured interviews for Professor Ian Jacobs for a range of media outlets including The Sydney Morning Herald, ABC 702, 2GB, 2SM, The Liverpool Leader and The Australian. The launch was attended by the Star Observer and specialist health publications, Hospital and Healthcare Bulletin.
