Energus
Ongoing Media Outreach

Belongil Creek Bridge crossing_Byron Bay

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Momentum2 was engaged by Energus, the Australian arm of Sunman Energy for two separate campaigns in 2020. We were tasked with securing coverage of the US$7 million in funding from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) received by Sunman to further develop its revolutionary technology and in addition, a second campaign positioning their eArc flexible solar panels as an attractive alternative to PV solar glass in light of a global glass shortage.

The first campaign involved extensive research into domestic media with the second one focussing on both domestic and international, identifying suitable target publications and pitching stories to key media. Momentum2 managed the ongoing liaison between Energus/Sunman, CEFC and the media to secure coverage, prepare interviews and manage issues.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES

CEFC announcement:

  • Announce the CEFC investment in Sunman

  • Secure coverage for the announcement and maximise reach

Global glass shortage:

  • Raise awareness of the global shortage of PV solar glass and its impacts on solar glass prices

  • Position Sunman’s eArc flexible glassless solar panels as an attractive alternative to traditional glass panels

OUTCOMES

CEFC announcement:

The result was widespread coverage across mainstream news including the Sydney Morning Herald, Sky Business, The Sunday Canberra Times, The Age, ABC News and Financial Review, as well as specialist media like Energy News Bulletin, PV Magazine and Au Manufacturing. These included interviews with Sunman founder Dr. Zhengrong Shi facilitated by Momentum2.

Global glass shortage:

Coverage of this campaign appeared in a number of specialist publications including an interview with Dr Shi in PV Magazine Germany, as well as articles in PV Magazine Australia, Climate Control News and EcoVoice.
