FAUNA AND FLORA INTERNATIONAL
Visit of HRH Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Momentum² was engaged by Fauna and Flora International (FFI) to undertake media outreach for the visit of their president, Her Royal Highness, Princess Laurentien to Australia in 2014.
We organised a press conference which was held in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney in the presence of the former NSW Minister for the Environment and Minister for Heritage, the Hon Rob Stokes MP.
As part of the campaign, Momentum² created a press release and backgrounder which were circulated to media and other interested parties. Her Royal Highness was also invited to plant a rare Red-listed tree, Chrysophyllum Imperial in the gardens.
CLIENT OBJECTIVES
-
To create awareness and understanding among the public and key target groups of the visit of HRH Princess Laurentien to Australia
-
To inform the public about the work of FFI in Australia and in particular, the campaign aimed at combatting microplastic marine pollution
-
To provide an opportunity for the public to support FFI Australia and take action by becoming a donor
OUTCOMES
In spite of Her Royal Highness’ busy schedule, we were able to arrange interviews with key media including the Sydney Morning Herald, News Corp, 2GB, ABC and all television news channels. She also appeared on The Project.
As a result of this visit, the NSW Minister was inspired to look at introducing legislation in NSW concerning marine microplastic pollution.
